Steinmeyer - welcome to where precision is

August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG

All three companies in the Steinmeyer group have their roots from a person with outstanding personality and accomplishments. Founder August Steinmeyer got his inspiration from the life of "mechanics priest" Philipp Matthäus Hahn, an 18th century minister and inventor who created the inclination balance, improved watches and built astronomical machines. Today a museum in Albstadt is dedicated to this genius Hahn.  His belief that everything can be improved remains our motto.

Feinmess Dresden GmbH

Precision engineering and precision optics - this combination was the key to success for the company founder, Gustav Heyde. In 1872 he established the "Mathematical Mechanical Institute" which became a rapidly expanding enterprise for high precision opto-mechanical systems. The Dresden workshops developed and manufactured measuring instruments for land surveying, special binoculars or aerial mapping cameras for aircrafts. Astronomical observatories in Moscow, Budapest and Rio de Janeiro were supplied with Heyde's telescopes - including rotating dome and positioning systems.

Feinmess Suhl GmbH

A few years later, in 1878, Friedrich Keilpart founded his company in Suhl / Thuringia. From the start he also dealt with precision mechanical equipment and metrology. His wedge-shaped company logo with the initials "KS" (Keilpart Suhl) can still be seen on many gages. Feinmess Suhl carries on the tradition.
